Our Production
WHERE ARE YOUR GARMENTS MADE?
Being an ethically minded business is important to us. In 2020, the exciting and growing nature of our social enterprise and mission meant an opportunity to explore and engage with alternative suppliers and manufacturers. HoMie works closely with Maker and Co., a Sydney-based organisation who work solely with ethically approved businesses.
HoMie production takes place in the Shandong Province in China - this business is annually audited by SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. The audit is conducted according to the SMETA Best Practices and SMETA Measurement Criteria, including Labour standards, Health and Safety, Environment and Business Ethics and it is extended to all types of workers at the site.
DO YOU REUSE OR RECYCLE CLOTHING?
Yes! Any remaining seasonal stock from HoMie releases is used as part of HoMie's VIP Days, providing young people affected by homelessness with brand new clothing.
REBORN by HoMie transforms excess and deadstock garments into unique circular pieces. Our Melbourne-based team hand cuts, sews, and upcycles each item, reducing textile waste and promoting circular fashion. This process also supports our mission to assist young people affected by homelessness or hardship.
